Attention Company!
Everyone who plans to attend Shiloh needs to
try and be at the drill day at Buds house Feb.17, and they need to contact me by
phone or email. We will fixing dinner that day and we need a head count.
As for the first meeting this year I feel we
may have caused some tensions between members and we don't need that. We have
just begun to grow as a group. We are all
adults and the group as a whole voted on the items that were brought forward,
not for or against anyone but for the unit as one group.
If it will calm the storm between members I
will resign my post as Capt. Its better to lose one Capt. than 3 or 4 members.
Ya'll let me know what ya'll think.
I remain Ya'lls servant

Men of The Ala-Sippi Rifles,
First, I would like to congratulate all the Officers and N.C.O.’s elected for the next two-year term. I hate I couldn’t be their to see all of my friends but I had family issues to attend to.
I spoke with Capt. Paul Allen on the phone after the meeting and I feel good about the decisions made. Changes must be made at times for the Unit to grow. It has been an honor to serve as 1st Sgt. with the Ala-Sippi Rifles "Alabama counter part" and will always remember that. I know 1st Sgt. Riggs will do a great job and I have full trust in his decisions.
As far as the future for me, I’m planning on attending the events voted upon for the first few months of the year and after that, I feel my family and I should travel a different path for a while. This doesn’t imply that I’m leaving the unit, just that we want to try different things in the matter of reenacting our great heritage.
Men, I want to stress the fact that the out come of the votes or any actions in the past do not have a factor on my decision, to be honest it is a relief to know that I can serve as private. This decision has been made due to my health and family issues, and those only.
I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Gentlemen,
Here's to a successful and fun filled yearly meeting. Lots of good food and conversation.
Congratulations to Capt. Allen, Lt. Gilbert, and Cpl. Hall for their reelection; and also to our new First Sgt. Riggs, congrats, I know you will do a fine job.
We managed to get a few things accomplished and a few more things ironed out including throwing out a legitimate vote cast in good faith by the members who actually attended the July meeting (what were we thinking?). It is comforting to know that if we make a big mistake there will be someone there down the road to show us the error of our ways and point us in the right direction. Come on guys, get it right or we will keep voting until you do!!
We also got a good start on planning events for the upcoming year; hope everyone is looking forward to Shiloh and the live shoots.

Gentlemen,
Hopefully the DNS has successfully propagated to it's new home and you are able to read this. Due to some technical difficulties, poor customer support, and my lack of free time, the website has fallen into a state of disrepair with broken links, blank pages, etc. We are now at home with GoDaddy.com, but there is still a learning curve for yours truly since the process of posting web pages is somewhat different than what I am accustomed to, but if all goes well, then,,, all should go well. I will try to have another forum on the page as soon as possible for those of you who care to post.
Now that we have that out of the way, I am looking forward to seeing everyone at 10:00am January 20th, 2007 at Jessie's house. If the members page is still working properly there should be directions from last year, although I think the mentioned gas station has changed names which I cannot remember at this moment.
Don't forget we will be electing or reelecting officers this year, so if anyone has aspirations of putting on the bars or stripes, feel free to throw your kepi, or slouch, into the ring.
Captain Allen also wanted me to ask everyone to bring any equipment that they would like to sell, trade, or otherwise get rid of to the meeting. This can help you to clean out your closet and may help someone with a need.
